Below are the original and transcription of the Will of John Restarick of Axmouth which links the Axmouth and Colyton families. This Will has survived as John died in 1644 during the English Civil War when all Wills had to be deposited at Westminster rather than at regional Bishops’ Courts.  All the Devon and Cornwall Wills were destroyed by an incendiary bomb during the Second World War so we are very fortunate that this Will has survived.
